Privacy Policy

Our Privacy Promise

Scores of Chores is built by parents, for parents. We know families want simple tools that help kids build responsibility without turning their personal information into a product.

Our simple promise:

We collect as little information as possible. We do not sell your data. We do not sell your child’s data. We do not use family data for advertising.

What this policy covers

This Privacy Policy explains how Scores of Chores handles information collected through our website, waitlist, and future app experience.

The current website is used for product information, parent guides, and launch notifications. The app is intended to help parents manage chores, homework, reading, errands, goals, XP, and rewards within their own family.

Information we collect on the website

If you join the launch waitlist, we collect your email address so we can notify you about Scores of Chores product updates and early access.

We do not use the waitlist to collect child names, family chore details, reward details, payment information, or other personal family data.

Waitlist information may include:

  • Email address
  • Date and time of signup
  • Basic source information, such as landing page signup

How we use your email address

We use waitlist email addresses only for Scores of Chores product updates, early access notifications, launch announcements, and important information about the product.

We do not sell waitlist emails. We do not rent waitlist emails. We do not use waitlist emails for unrelated marketing campaigns.

Information we expect the app to use

The Scores of Chores app is intended to collect only the information needed to operate the family account, manage parent authentication, support child profiles, assign chores and goals, track XP, and allow parents to approve completed work.

We intend to maintain only the information needed to manage user accounts, authentication, family setup, and the core product experience.

Future app information may include:

  • Parent account information for sign-in and authentication
  • Family account setup information
  • Child profiles created or managed by a parent
  • Rooms, chores, homework, reading, errands, goals, and XP
  • Reward settings created by the parent
  • Approval status for submitted work

Children’s privacy and COPPA

Scores of Chores is designed around parent-managed family use. We intend for parents or guardians to create and manage family accounts and child profiles.

We intend to comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act, commonly known as COPPA, and other applicable children’s privacy requirements. For children under 13, we intend to rely on parent or guardian account creation, parent-managed child profiles, parent control, and parental consent where required.

We do not intend to knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13 without appropriate parent or guardian involvement and consent. Parents will be able to contact us to review, update, or request deletion of information associated with their family account.

Parent control matters.

Scores of Chores is being built so parents manage the family account, control the child experience, and approve the work that earns XP.

We do not sell family data

We do not sell your personal information. We do not sell your child’s personal information. We do not sell family chore, reward, behavior, progress, or XP data.

We also do not use child or family data for targeted advertising. Scores of Chores is not being built as an advertising business.

Product updates only

If you join the waitlist or create an account in the future, we may send product-related messages such as launch updates, early access invitations, feature updates, account notices, or important service information.

We do not intend to send unrelated marketing emails. We also plan to provide a way to unsubscribe from non-essential update emails.

Verification photos

Scores of Chores may allow a child to use a photo as temporary proof that a chore, task, or goal was completed. These photos are intended only to help the parent review and approve the submitted work.

We do not store verification photos on our servers. Photos remain on the local device temporarily until the parent reviews the submission, and they are not transmitted to Scores of Chores.

Once the parent reviews the chore submission, the temporary photo is deleted. Scores of Chores is not designed to create or maintain a permanent photo archive of children, chores, homes, or family activity.

Plain-language version:

Photos are temporary proof for parents. We do not upload them, store them, sell them, or keep them after review.

Data security

We plan to use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect information used by Scores of Chores. No online service can guarantee perfect security, but we will design the product with data minimization, account security, and parent control in mind.

Data deletion requests

You may request removal from the waitlist or ask questions about your information by contacting us.

In the future app, parents will be able to request deletion of account or family information, subject to any legal, security, or operational requirements that may apply.

Changes to this policy

Scores of Chores is currently in pre-launch development. We may update this policy as the product evolves, especially as app features, account management, child profiles, local photo proof, and reward features are finalized.

When we make material updates, we will update this page and, when appropriate, provide product update notices.
